Soup Kitchen Call for Volunteers

 

The UCE is hosting four soup kitchens this fall.

They are Wednesdays 9/12, 9/19, 9/26 and 10/3.

 

Listed below are the food items and volunteer positions we need.  Because of the great response after the service on Sept 9th, the format of the lists has been changed to only list what we still need.

 

Please email Janet Hartmann at jtwros1@comcast.net with the date and volunteer spot and/or food items.  She will respond to confirm your spots.  If you cannot email, please call Janet at 847/425-9287.

 

Lunch food should be brought to the church kitchen between 9:30-10:00 the Sunday before.

Dinner food should be brought to the church kitchen by 4:45 the day of the soup kitchen.

Soup Kitchen Coordinators

 

Volunteers needed for each evening

 

Food coordinator:  Receive food, heat or keep warm, coordinate helpers for any additional prep and keeping the servers supplied through the serving time (arrive 4:45, done by 7)

Still need food coordinators for 9/19 and 9/26!

Lobby Beverages Coordinator:   provide beverages in the lobby the day of the soup kitchen. (arrive 4, done by 6)  Still needed for 9/19, 9/26, 10/3!

50 slices turkey lunchmeat (need 3 more people)

50 greenish bananas

50 apples

8 large packages cookies (200 cookies)

 

Dinner Foods:

To be delivered Weds 10/3 by 4:45:

Salad for 25 (need 3 more people)

25 corn bread muffins (need 4 people)

2 Apple Pies (need 4 people plus 1 extra pie)
