UCE Men's Group The UCE Men’s Group, now more than 20 years old, “promotes mature and positive acts of maleness within our church community and decries negative acts that occur in the world around us.” The group is open and welcoming to all who want to participate. Meetings occur every other Sunday at 7 p.m., usually at the church. Occasionally we have supper together at a local restaurant. Discussions center around a planned topic as well as issues individual members choose to share. We emphasize supportive listening and confidentiality. We encourage speaking from the heart and discourage discussions of sports, politics, and the like. The group provides meaningful, positive male support within a Unitarian/Universalist base. Our activities include conducting a meaningful Annual Retreat weekend each spring at quality nearby places. We sponsor a Coming of Age program for boys in the junior high RE program, provide lunch for Mother’s Day, barbecue for the all church picinic, and volunteer in other ways as requested throughout the year. The UCE Men’s Group is affiliated with the UUMeN organization of the UUA and participates in district and national activities of that organization. Unitarian Church of Evanston
