Vision Statement

As the Unitarian Church of Evanston, together we will:

• Create and support a safe, caring, and inclusive community nourished by our common values and the celebration of life's passages
• Deepen our lives together through the spirituality of worship, ritual, and sharing; with reason and through intellectual engagement — which connect us to the everyday wonder of what lies within us, between us, and beyond us.
• Encourage and empower ourselves to create a community of diversity — a safe place where the realities of our lives — including racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds — can be embraced, honored, and celebrated.
• Live into our spiritual and ethical ideals through social action in both the local and global communities.
• Honor and cherish our children and take responsibility for nurturing their character through spiritual, moral, and intellectual guidance; and, by how we are together, teach them how to live in community.
