Social Action and Justice

Social Action and Justice is an integral part of Unitarian Universalism and the mission of the Unitarian Church of Evanston.  Our efforts to make the world more whole are concentrated in four areas:

  1. Peace and Justice local and global advocacy for peace
  2. Rainbow Alliancegay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender equality
  3. Green Sanctuary – environmental stewardship
  4. Food and Shelter Team – alleviating homelessness and hunger

The work of these committees is coordinated through our Social Action Council, which is integrated with our Board of Trustees and Religious Education Board. The council also decides on the organizations we share our Sunday loose plate collections with. For a current list of this years shared offering recipients click here.
