The Peace and Justice Program works for peace by advocating for systemic change.  We work to improve social and economic justice in our community and in the world at large.

We do much of our work through coalitions.  We are a member of the North Shore Coalition for Peace and Justice, which sponsors monthly peace vigils.  We’re also working with Evanston’s PeaceAble Cities to encourage interfaith dialog and with the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) in their efforts to end oppression and hunger worldwide.

In the past few years we’ve helped develop and promote the Unitarian-Universalist Association’s Peacemaking Statement of Conscience.  In the coming year we’ll be conducting activities to help us qualify as a Peace Advocacy Congregation.

The Peace and Justice Program meets the 2nd Sunday of every month after the worship service 11:45am – 1pm. For more information, contact Mary Dudek mdudekpa@yahoo.com or Gini Sayad virsayad@gmail.com
