Visitors are welcome to worship with us and to learn about our many programs. We would like to get to know you and help you get to know us. Please come to the Guest and member Service Table in the lobby when you come any Sunday. We will provide you with a nametag. Then you may join us at the visitor’s table in the back of the sanctuary after the Sunday service.
Religious Education - Groups in which children learn about our faith are available before and during the 11 a.m. worship service. High school-aged youth meet following the service.
Newcomers are always welcome to come share in the activities with any of the various interest groups in our community. Explore the many programs under Ministries and Programs.

The Rev. Barbara Pescan, Senior Minister, welcomes you to UCE.
“We are a community of seekers covenanted to walk together in the ways of integrity and service. Here, we open time and make room to reflect on the questions. Here, we help each other find the courage and commitment to live fully toward what answers we might find and within the mysteries that abide. Here, the whole community may see itself gathered to celebrate its common life. Here, we promise to keep our minds and hearts open to each other and to what lies beyond our certainties to what is yet to unfold.”
The Rev. Nancy Shaffer, Interim Minister for Religious Education, welcomes you to UCE.
"In our tradition we understand each person as a teacher, each person as a learner, all life long. We believe that what we know about what is good and true can deepen for as long as we live – and that it is both a gift and a responsibility to stay open to this changing. We also take the stance that everything we do as a faith community is food and substance for religious learning – not only our worship together and not only particular study of books or history or participation in social justice events, but how we are with each other as we engage these. Ours is an active faith, one that asks commitment to examining our lives and beliefs, for the purpose of finding that which is life-giving, so that store of good in the world is increased. We invite you to join us in this joy and changing."
