Highlights from August 19 UCE BOT Meeting: August 27, 2021

This is not meant to be a complete description, just a note to let you know what was discussed. Please look for the minutes from the previous meeting which are posted each month after they have been approved.  To view the minutes for the previous month, go to the Board Page on the UCE website.

  • The Board worked on an agenda format which will allow us to devote more time to more strategic issues.
  • We reviewed the new organization of routine monthly Board administrative tasks. This is the implementation of a plan discussed by last year’s Board to allow the president to spend more time on larger, longer range issues.
  • It was noted that the role of Board liaisons to UCE Councils is to be an observer and communications link between the Board and committees, but not a voting, participating  member of the committee to which they are assigned.
  • We worked through a detailed Treasurer’s report, recognizing the financial uncertainty regarding whether Covid restrictions will allow us to meet our $50,000 rental income goal.
  • The Board will consider a request from the Social Justice Council regarding donating 100% rather than 50% of the weekly Shared Plate.
