UCE Mentoring

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Unitarian Church of Evanston’s mission is nurturing the human spirit for a world made whole, and we value educational growth and life-long learning. UCE Mentors provide important contributions to the local community, and enhance the community’s association of UCE with our values and mission. The UCE Mentoring Program provides support to UCE members and friends who are interested in or engaged in mentoring in order to facilitate both positive mentoring experiences and successful relational outcomes.

The UCE Mentoring Program promotes and supports mentoring opportunities for UCE members and friends by:

  • Connecting with organizations that provide mentoring, and referring people at UCE who are interested in mentoring to those programs and to others at UCE who have worked with those organizations;
  • Offering opportunities for training and support to those interested in exploring, and those already engaged in, mentoring relationships; and
  • Publicizing mentoring programs and UCE support opportunities.

Here are some successful mentoring organizations in our area, with which members of our church have experience:

Big Brothers/Big Sisters
Evanston Scholars
Pass With Flying Colors
SOAR
Y.O.U.
Best Buddies
The Lamp
Family Matters
