The Truth About Freedom

Considering positive and negative freedom, as  author Timothy Snyder explores, and what it means to be free from bodily harm vs. free to be our authentic selves. Rev. Eileen leads the service with Lynn Kendall as Worship Associate. Charles M. Anderson is our hymn leader and Gregory Shifrin is our pianist.

Today’s offering will be shared with the Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism (BLUU), which is committed to expanding the power and capacity of Black UUs within Unitarian Universalism.

  • Beacons of Light. Join UUCE at the corner of Dempster and Ridge every Thursday, 6:00-6:30pm, as a beacon of light for our country’s future. Bring a sign with a positive message that reflects what you’re feeling about this week’s events and your vision for the days ahead.
  • American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois (ACLU-IL), Rev. Susan Frances serves on their Board – Join their Community Activator Network
  • Interfaith Action of Evanston (IAE); Rev. Eileen Wiviott serves on their Board – Volunteer throughout Evanston

Recognize your spending power as an act of justice. Shop local or online from Fair Trade, ecologically sustainable, or BIPOC-owned businesses, like these online shops.
