Tai Chi

Tai Chi* is moving meditation, a gentle exercise with graceful, flowing movement performed at a slow tempo. Practitioners essentially circulate their life force energy (chi) throughout their bodies. Activating your life force can be transforming.

TAI CHI @ UCE  meets at the church on Saturday mornings, 9:45-10:45 for beginners, and is taught sequentially. Participants will learn the Sun-style tai chi form adapted and popularized by Dr. Paul Lam**. The Sun style is a simple, upright form ideal for people of all ages from teens to elders. This form is great for folks new to tai chi or ones returning after a long absence from practice.

Regular Tai Chi practice yields many benefits including, but not limited to: improved concentration, relaxation, balance, flexibility, fitness, immunity, quality of life and pain relief.

UCE member Renée Gatsis teaches the class. She has played Tai Chi for 40+ years and taught it for over 20 and credits Tai Chi in large part for her equanimity and good health.

Contact Renée through the Realm Membership Directory or e-mail admin@ucevanston.org for more information.
